CHICAGO, IL, October 22, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ — Nuzhat Ahmed Shares 29 Classic South Asian Recipes and the Family Stories Behind Them
Nuzhat Classic Recipes, Volume One: The Stories Behind the Recipes brings traditional home cooking, cherished family memories, and dependable recipes to readers.
World Publishing Company announces the forthcoming publication of Nuzhat Classic Recipes, Volume One: The Stories Behind the Recipes, a cookbook featuring 29 classic South Asian dishes from author and lifelong home cook Nuzhat Ahmed.
Organised into seven sections — Lamb & Beef, Chicken, Vegetables, Fish & Seafood, Rice, Breads, and Desserts — the collection brings together everyday favourites such as Aloo Gosht, Qeema Matar, and Palak Aloo, alongside celebratory dishes including Chicken Chargha, Badami Qorma, Chicken Biryani, and Zarda rice.
Each recipe includes a complete ingredient list, step-by-step instructions, serving suggestions, and practical cooking tips. The book is designed for home cooks seeking dependable recipes that combine traditional flavours with accessible techniques.
What distinguishes the collection is its emphasis on the stories behind the dishes. Readers encounter memories of a grandmother preparing Badami Qorma in the style of royal kitchens, a father’s kitchen mishap that became a treasured family story, a London wedding where Rogan Josh was mistaken for spoiled qorma, and a mother who used homemade Firni to encourage her children to complete their chores.
“Some recipes are more than food — they are vessels for memory, carrying the voices, gestures and love of the people who made them,” Nuzhat writes. “Sometimes a recipe is not just about the ingredients — it is about the person who taught you what home cooking tastes like.”
The book also features home-friendly versions of Chicken Tikka Masala, White Chicken Kadhai, Reshmi Kebab, Carrot Halva, Mango Kulfi, Gulab Jamun, and Classic Summer Pudding. Practical shortcuts help make these dishes approachable for cooks with busy schedules.
Volume One is intended for readers who appreciate traditional recipes and families who want to preserve their culinary memories. It is the first instalment in a planned three-volume collection, with Volumes Two and Three to follow.
