VANCOUVER, BC, September 24, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ — The personal injury law firm of Warnett Hallen LLP is again a proud sponsor of the 21st annual Gift of Time gala, an event benefiting Canuck Place Children’s Hospice in Vancouver. Presented by Nicola Wealth, the gala has raised over $22.1 million for the internationally acclaimed paediatric palliative care center. It will be held Oct. 24 at 5 p.m. at the Fairmont Pacific Rim hotel in Vancouver.
Manjot Hallen, a founding partner of Warnett Hallen LLP, has long been committed to supporting BC children and families. He previously served as chair of BC Children’s Hospital’s A Night of Miracles Gala. This is the third year that the firm has sponsored the Gift of Time gala.
“The wellbeing of children and families has long been important to me. Our firm is honoured to continue supporting Canuck Place and the life-changing work that it does every day,” says Hallen.
The origins of Canuck Place date back to 1988, when Vancouver nurse Brenda Eng noticed a need for a comprehensive palliative care center for children with life-threatening illnesses and their families. In partnership with private and public donors, The Vancouver Canucks Hockey Club, the Griffiths family, The Vancouver Sun, Variety – The Children’s Charity, Loewen Group, TELUS, and the City of Vancouver, Canuck Place Children’s Hospice opened in 1995 as the first free-standing hospice in North America. It now has locations in Vancouver and Abbotsford.
Families can access a range of supportive services at Canuck Place, including care for managing pain and other symptoms, medical respite, educational opportunities, and art, music, and recreation therapy. It also provides end-of-life care as well as grief and bereavement counselling — all free of charge.
