LOS ANGELES, CA, October 16, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ — Kay A. Oliver, an award-winning novelist and entertainment journalist, has been named Author of the Year 2026 by the International Impact Book Awards in the Mystery Books category, marking another major milestone in her literary career. The honor follows her 2025 recognition as Fiction Author of the Year 2025 by the International Association of Top Professionals (IAOTP), making this her second consecutive year receiving a prestigious author-of-the-year distinction.
“I was genuinely surprised and thrilled to receive this honor, especially for the second year in a row. I’m grateful to the readers who continue to support my books, and I’m excited to share Truth Fractured with them,” states Oliver.
Adding to the excitement, Oliver has just released “Truth Fractured,” the fourth installment in her Kutter Mystery Series, bringing readers another suspense-filled mystery filled with secrets, deception, and the search for justice.
With more than 30 literary awards and honors to her credit, Oliver continues to build a reputation for crafting compelling mysteries that challenge readers to question what they believe and consider the truth behind appearances. Her stories feature intricate plots, complex characters, and unexpected revelations that keep readers turning pages until the final chapter.
A New Honor for a Career Built on Storytelling
Oliver’s 2026 International Impact Book Awards recognition in the Mystery Books category underscores her continued contributions to the mystery genre. Her consecutive author-of-the-year honors reflect a career dedicated to developing engaging stories that entertain readers while exploring the complexities of human behavior, relationships, and the choices people make.
Beyond her work as a novelist, Oliver brings more than 30 years of Hollywood experience, including work on Emmy- and Oscar-winning productions. She is also a university professor and contributor to High On Films, where she writes about film and entertainment.
Her professional background spans entertainment, business, and publishing, giving her a distinctive perspective on storytelling and the motivations that drive people. That perspective carries into her fiction, where the line between what appears to be true and what actually happened is rarely as straightforward as it seems.
“Truth Fractured:” A New Chapter in the Kutter Mystery Series
Oliver’s latest release, “Truth Fractured,” continues the Kutter Mystery Series with a case built around a devastating injustice. Hank Tanner is imprisoned for a murder he did not commit, and his connection to Orson Kutter, introduced in the first book, brings the series full circle.
As the fourth book in the series, “Truth Fractured” offers returning readers another opportunity to explore the world Oliver has created while delivering a mystery centered on the consequences of false accusations, the weight of secrets, and the pursuit of truth.
New to the series? Start where it all began with “Fear Struck.” The first book introduces readers to Orson Kutter, a bestselling author who finds himself accused of murder when his manuscript bears an unsettling resemblance to a real-life killing. What begins as a disturbing coincidence unfolds into a mystery that challenges assumptions and keeps readers questioning what is real and who can be trusted.
The Kutter Mystery Series is available through major booksellers, including Amazon, Goodreads, and Barnes & Noble. Readers can begin with “Fear Struck” and follow the series through its latest release, “Truth Fractured.”
The release also marks an exciting moment for Oliver, whose growing body of work spans multiple mystery series and other fiction genres. From psychological suspense to archaeological mysteries and her developing cozy mystery series, she continues to explore new stories while remaining committed to the twists, compelling characters, and unexpected discoveries readers have come to expect.
