LAS VEGAS, Nevada, July 23, 2026 — Words Are Rich
Foundation announced that it will host its annual Back-to-School
Community Event on Friday, August 7, at Pearson Community Center in Las
Vegas, where more than 50 local students are expected to receive shoes,
school supplies, and meals ahead of the upcoming school year.
The Las Vegas-based nonprofit said the event is part of its ongoing
efforts to support youth and families in Southern Nevada through
practical assistance, mentorship, and community outreach programs.
According to the organization, the annual event is intended to help
students prepare for the start of the school year by addressing basic
back-to-school needs and connecting families with local support
resources.
Students participating in the event are expected to receive brand-new
shoes, school supplies, and a hot meal. Words Are Rich Foundation said
the program is focused on serving families in the local community while
reinforcing its broader work centered on youth development and family
support.
“This event is intended to provide local students with essential
items they can use as they begin the new school year,” said Oli Porter,
Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Words Are Rich Foundation. “It
also gives the organization an opportunity to connect with families and
continue building community-based support through its programs and
partnerships.”
In
addition to the Back-to-School Community Event, Words Are Rich
Foundation organizes recurring outreach efforts throughout the year in
Las Vegas. The organization holds a monthly food distribution on the
fourth Thursday of each month from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at Parkdale
Community & Senior Center, located at 3200 Ferndale Street in Las
Vegas. It also conducts the WAR on Homelessness Outreach on the fourth
Saturday of each month, serving individuals experiencing homelessness
throughout the Las Vegas Valley through the distribution of meals,
hygiene items, clothing, and other essential supplies.
Words Are Rich Foundation also partners with The Way Foundation on
community outreach initiatives in Southern Nevada. According to the
organization, transportation support provided through that partnership
helps volunteers coordinate service activities and expand the reach of
monthly outreach efforts across the Las Vegas area.
The nonprofit said its youth-focused work also includes mentorship
and leadership development programming designed to provide guidance,
community engagement opportunities, and personal development support for
young people. The Back-to-School Community Event is one of several
initiatives the organization uses to support youth and families through
direct service and local partnerships.
